SIA Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (RQF)

This 4-day online/ classroom ‘Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (RQF)’ course is designed to equip new Security Officers with the knowledge and practical experience required to join the ‘Private Security Industry’. If you are looking to be employed as a Security Officer in commercial premises, construction sites, hotels, shopping centres, festivals, or private residence, this is the course for you. We will provide you with everything you need to achieve the high standards and accreditation, required by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) in order to grant you your SIA License.

Changes

With effect from the 1st of April 2021, the SIA have implemented changes to the Security Officers course structure that has changed from being delivered fully online to a blended delivery of 3 days online and 1 day in the classroom to complete the qualification. This means that you will be required to attend one of our state-of-the-art training centres on the final day to complete the practical elements of your training.

First Aid

The SIA have stipulated that you Must be in possession of an approved First Aid Qualification with a minimum of 12 months left to run, on the first day of the course. If you require a First Aid Course, please inform our customer services team and we will be able to arrange this for you, anywhere in the UK and Ireland.

Course Length

4-days (30 GLH) in total consisting of 3-days online and 1-day in the classroom. You will also be required to register and complete a short online video assisted eLearning course and complete a workbook, which is required to satisfy 8 hours of distance learning for the ‘Principles of Working in the Private Security Industry’ module.

Assessment

This qualification is assessed by practical demonstrations, evidential statements, completed workbooks and 3 multiple choice exams.

Qualification

Successful candidates will receive a ‘Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (RQF)’ qualification, which sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The RQF is a Qualification Framework regulated by Ofqual and CCEA Regulation. It is also suitable for delivery in Wales and is regulated by Qualification Wales.
